Auditions are required for membership in any of our choirs, and we encourage all to try out! We have many members that have been in TMEA All-State choirs, many members that were in band, and some that have never sung in a choir before and just enjoy singing and performing! If you are interested in setting up an audition, please give us a call or come by the Choral Activities Office. All groups hold auditions at the beginning of every semester. In addition, Singing Cadets hold auditions throughout the summer, and Women’s Chorus holds auditions during the summer on Pre-Conference days at 5:30pm and by appointment during New Student Conferences. No preparation is required for the auditions. An audition consists of vocalizing to determine range, singing My Country, ‘Tis of Thee (music provided), and simple sight-reading. Auditions are conducted by the director of the choir for which you are auditioning.
Auditions for Choral Activities will all be online and students can schedule an audition at any time (the sooner the better) by emailing David Kipp at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Singing Cadets Auditions
Since 1893, The Singing Cadets have been an ambassador of Texas A&M. Performing 60-70 concerts each year takes us across the State of Texas, throughout the country, and often around the world. Our membership ranges from All-State Choir members to guys who just like to sing for fun, from Corps members to non-reg. We invite you to come join the Singing Cadets and help us represent the best university in the world.
Auditions are held throughout the summer and during the first week of every Fall and Spring semester. The audition process is simple: as with all of our choirs at Texas A&M, you sing “My Country ’tis of Thee” and do a simple sight-reading exercise. We have many members that have been in TMEA All-State choirs, many members that were in band, and some have never sung in a choir before and just enjoy singing and performing! If you are interested in setting up an audition, please contact us. The biggest thing to consider before auditioning is our rehearsal times. Our rehearsals are held during normal class periods as listed below. Please make sure that your schedule allows for these times before you audition.
- Monday and Wednesday: 3:00 – 3:50 PM
- Tuesday and Thursday: 3:55 – 5:15 PM
To set up an audition time, you can contact us or come and visit the Choral Actives Office in the Music Activities Center.
The Singing Cadets also have a small vocal ensemble called the Aggienizors. The Aggienizors are a barbershop quartet that is auditioned from within the Singing Cadets each semester as needed. For more information regarding Aggienizors, click here.

We dare you to come audition. You’ll make lifelong friends AND wonderful music, we guarantee it.
Keep in mind that rehearsals are MANDATORY (but SUPER fun).
