Mr. Brandon Laird is the Assistant Director of Bands at Texas A&M University. As the Assistant Director of Bands, Mr. Laird conducts the Concert Band and assists with the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band.
A 2010 graduate of Nederland High School in Nederland, Texas, Mr. Laird pursued his career in music at Lamar University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education (2014) under the mentorship of Dr. Scott Deppe and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration (2017).
Mr. Laird has an extensive background in public school music education, having taught at Silsbee ISD, Nederland ISD, and Galena Park ISD. During his tenure, his bands consistently achieved UIL Sweepstakes and were recognized as TMEA Honor Band Area qualifiers. His ensembles also earned recognition as National Wind Band Mark of Excellence Commended Winners. The North Shore Senior High School marching bands that Mr. Laird assisted with were named as consistent 6A Area-F Finalists and qualifiers for the UIL State Marching Contest.
Mr. Laird is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA), and Texas Music Adjudicators Association (TMAA). He resides in College Station, Texas with his wife, Morgan, and their children, Jude and Ava.
