The history of repertoire performed by Texas A&M Music Activities reflects a deep commitment to musical diversity and quality across its many celebrated ensembles. From the iconic sounds of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band, known for its military marches like “The Noble Men of Kyle” and the “Aggie War Hymn,” to the sophisticated programs of the concert ensembles, the department has showcased a truly extensive range of works.

The university bands have regularly featured masterworks for wind ensemble, spanning foundational composers like Holst and Grainger to contemporary voices such as John Mackey and David Maslanka. The university orchestras explore the pillars of classical music, including symphonies and concerti by Beethoven, Mozart and Tchaikovsky, alongside pieces by modern composers.
